Hey everyone, heaps of hockey news this week. Another busy weekend of hockey has seen our Canterbury Junior Elite team come home with two more great games under their belts. A great effort first game with a 10-2 win and then Sunday saw a closer game but equally great acheivement with a 3-3 draw. Way to go guys we are all rooting for you and totally stoked to see these awesome results.
After their trip through to Queenstown and then the final games of the first round the Devils are proudly sitting in first place. Way to go guys. Great results.
This weekend the Devils will meet the Southern Stampede at home here in CHCH. It wont be easy games as the Stampede come on up and try to inforce payback for their home games agains the Devils two weeks ago. Come on down guys and see some great hockey. Adults are $15 adult and child passes $10 wee ones are in free. The lads love to see you all there supporting them. Get your tickets from any rep team players and they get some of the price of their ticket back into their costs. Its a great way to support our teams so rock on down... get your ticket earlie and your support will be felt two times over!
The Canterbury Under19s have been working hard with their leadup to Nationals. If you wish to see them play and support them then rock on down to Premier Contact on Thursday nights to see them pit themselves in this competition.
Great to see so many of our teams doing so well!
To all you guys out there who have been playing over the summer, theres heaps of hockey over the winter to so dont be afraid to get on in there! The womens grade is in full swing and Im sure would wellcome any of you lovely ladies out there who might want to join in! Its a great atmosphere and heaps of fun. Let me know if your interested and I can pass you over the contact details... or alternatively pop on down and have a wee sneaky peak, Monday evenings, two games, puck drops on the first game at 8pm. And for you lads out there there are other options for getting involved with hockey over the winter to, if your interested in reffing please contact Ryan Cairns ryan.cairns@generalcable.co.nz if reffings not really your scene then keep on reading, you will see some of the other great ways you can be involved in hockey even if your not playing at the moment. :)
Get in quick for your tickets to a great night out at the races. For just $30 you get into the races at Addington on the 16th of this month, once in, your ticket will get you a free race book and an extra yummy 3 course buffet style meal. Great value and lots of fun. Take your lovely lady or deserving lad out for a romantic evening or rock on in with your mates, all are wellcome. Tickets available from Red Devils players and Under 19s players. Numbers need to be confirmed this week so be in quick. The Canterbury womens team have a great day of family fun coming up on the 25th of this month. A day at the golf, tickets are just $6 and this price will not only get you into the mini golf but also will get you a yummy bbq lunch... now thats GREAT value! Tickets are available from all womens rep players or you can contact me and we can sort it out!
This weekend at the Red Devils Game will be a fundraising table, on this table will be a great range of different fundraisers from all different hockey teams from our club. Drop in for a look, you can bid in auctions for an authentic signed Devils Jersey, buy Yummy fresh soup from the Under19s, get a funky hockey Calendar from the Minors, buy a classy Devilletes Hockey Jersey for just $30 and so much more. Pop on in to the game and swing by the fundraising table and see some of the fun and usefull things you can get from your local teams!
Also we would like to extend an big thankyou to Ange for her great efforts with the adult hockey classes. They were greatly enjoyed and I've only heard really positive feedback! Way to go Ange, we hope you will be able to run more of these types of programmes in the not to distant future!

Hey guys, finally the wee news letter I have talked to you about, please pass it on to anyone you think that might be interested and let me know of any events games, fundraisers etc so that I can include them. :)
The winter season has started with a bang, with many teams competing in so many different leagues there are so many things going on, it can be hard to keep up!
First of all best of luck to the Junior Elite Team this weekend, they meet Southern in Gore. Anyone in the neighbourhood I am sure they will be glad for the support! (let me know the results.. I'll email them out!)
Well done to the Canterbury Red Devils, currently leading in points and putting in some great games. Keep up the great work!
The fundraisers are all in full swing, the minors hockey are selling funky calenders, a great deal... approach any minors players for details or let me know and I can get he information for you!
This weekend is the final session in this section of Angeliques hockey for adults classes. These are absolutely great. All new players and B'grade adults are totally wellcome to this session on Saturday morning. Goalie and player coaching from some really talented coaches. Full equipment is required, if you have any problem with equipment, let me know and we will try and find some equipment for you to use (lyndal_heineman@hotmail.com) For all interested in this class please contact either myself or Angelique (angelique@value.net.nz)
Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th are the next home games for the Red Devils. They will meet the Southern Stampede. It promises to be a hard physical weekend with Southern seeking retribution for their two losses at the hands of the Devils this past weekend. Puck drops at 4.45 come on along and support the Devils in their quest to hold onto the National Title! Tickets are $15 dollars for adults, $10 for children and the wee ones are free. Tickets are available from all canterbury rep players and also from the door on the day. Contact your rep players in advance and purchase your tickets and their teams will get a percentage of your ticket price towards their travel costs this season! Its a great way to support both the Devils and the other rep teams working hard this season to prove the strength of Canterbury Ice Hockey!
Next month the Red Devils and the under 19s will be having another night at the races. For $30 you get a great meal and a free race book, entrance to the races. A great chance to get together with your friends and have a night out! See any members of these two teams for your tickets, if your not sure who to contact simply reply to this email and I can arrange tickets for you. :)
The Canterbury Devillites have a great raffle running. Three great hampers full of wonderful treats and vouchers. At two dollars a ticket these are definately a bargain! See any of the girls for these tickets, or reply to this email. These tickets will also be available the Red Devils home games from now on. You have to be in to win!
Interested in Reffing? Its a great chance to increase your understanding of the game, increase your skating skills, make new freinds and have a great time all in one go! Anyone interested in learning to ref should contact Ryan Cairns at ryan.cairns@generalcable.co.nz
Got to many things going on and just want a chance to relax? Heres your chance! Let a Devil do your dirty work! All you have to do is make a donation to the team and you will get a Devil or another Canterbury rep player out at your place, cutting your wood, cleaning your windows, cleaning your car! You decide, the Devils want your odd jobs! Just contact me and I will let you know all the details! Its a great chance to sit back, relax and let someone else do all those things you just dont want to. :)
